Nourish is primarily run by its founder Sarah Bergs, but she is not alone. The programs of Nourish are supported and enriched by our partner organizations, those key community members whose cooperation and hard work are vital to our efforts, and all those who donate their personal time and money to our goals.
We work to improve the health of local communities through environmental and nutritional education and upliftment. This means we plant sustainable food gardens, organize donation networks, help feed orphans and plant trees (amongst other endeavors) but we always strive to empower local people by including them in the upliftment of their own communities.
Right now. Many of the children we work with have basic needs that cannot wait until tomorrow. On top of this, successful community upliftment is a long term goal. It may take years for our efforts to foster the prosperity for which we strive, but it will never happen if we do not start today. It is clear: the time to act is now!
Sarah originally founded Nourish to make a difference in her hometown of Hoedspruit and the nearby communities of Acornhoek and Tulamahashe, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. While some of our projects continue to focus on this area, we have also expanded to include programs in the townships of Johannesburg, as well as communities in the neighboring countries of Southern Africa such as Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
We care about our fellow Africans and our shared environment. We saw suffering communities disconnected from the environment that surrounds them. We saw a need and decided to do something about it. Will you?
